It’s 2021 now, and if you still don’t have a website, then I strongly recommend you to have one.
2020 was a crazy year, mainly due to COVID, but a lot of things have changed, from algorithms to voice search controlling over 50% of the quests in the United States, according to Comscore. But 2020 is over; what’s going to happen in 2021?
The digital industry grew exponentially high in 2020;
Due to covid-19, almost businesses have started their business digitally via building a business website, advertising, social media marketing, and more.
Here are five critical updates you should consider in your website in 2021
1. Voice Search
We all know Google voice assistant and Amazon Alexa are making search easy.
We can use them for daily news, product info, weather report, and more.
Whereas now, the voice assistant can also order products from websites.
You can order the daily product from nearby stores.
As of now, Voice assistant can order your products from nearby stores only,
but it will soon reflect on websites like amazon and big E-commerce websites internationally.
Here are steps you can follow to make your website voice searchable
1. Create Google my business account.
2. Focus on Phrases and Longtail Keywords.
3. Anticipate Specific Questions Asked in a Conversational Manner.
2. Page Speed
The page speed or load time is going to be more critical than ever.
Not only do we see it with an increase in conversions that is causing sites when they improve their page speed,
but we also know that it increases their traffic and their rankings.
One trick or hack you can do with the website is to load your non-static files from CDNs. CDNs are also known as a content delivery network. We see conversion increases of up to seven percent.
3. Using GIFs and Videos
Content-length won’t matter as much. And I’m talking about text-based content.
Everyone used to create content based on the length being like, oh if we want to rank at the top, it needs to be super long,
we need to have all these keywords in there, this percentage.
In 2021, google does not want to rank based on its length but quality and user interaction and experience.
Instead of writing content for 2000+ words, focus on using good GIFs and Videos to elaborate your content.
Create Your Own Design
4. Video and audio length
We observed that videos with a video length of 10 to 15 minutes do excellent work in ranking your website and YouTube recommendation.
Simultaneously, 2 to 5 minutes and more than 30+ minutes do not give you the desired result.
Try making Video content in or under 10 to 20 minutes time span.
5. Repurposing and updating
Remember your old article from 2017 or 2018;
Repurposing and updating content will be the norm.
You can use one video/article in all other sources like podcasts, Instagram posts, LinkedIn microblogs, and Twitter tweets.
Podcasting is booming right now, but there are not many podcasts in the grand comparison compared to blogs out there.
Don’t worry about duplicate content. None of these platforms are penalizing for the same content.
some more significant update you must know about-
- Backlinks won’t matter as much. Does it matter if a site has a million backlinks or two million backlinks with user signals? Not really; what matters to users is a site more relevant.
- Brands will have more power than ever. It’s not just Google. With Facebook, with Clubhouse, whatever platform you’re going to go and leverage, if you have a brand, it’s easier to get followers, it’s easier to get reach, it’s easier to get more sales.
It is 2021 now, and You must focus more on digital business than a traditional business. All the above updates are primarily for your website to grow in 2021.
Make sure you follow it and see your growth.
